Job description

Are you an experienced PRODUCTION MANAGER, ideally with a career spent within the steel rolling / processing industry ? Would you like to work for a genuine market leader, with a proud and successful history dating back over 80 years ?  

  • Reports to: Production Director - CMD
  • Location: Oldbury, West Midlands, United Kingdom (UK)
  • Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and 7.30am to 12.30pm with no lunch break on Friday of each week - 37 hours in total, paid monthly.

The Role & Responsibilities

To have a full understanding of roll forming, its associated processes and of the Company's manufacturing systems. You will be required to communicate and work with other departments including technical, sales, transport, quality and health and safety.

  • Organise and manage all aspects of production
  • Understand the needs of customers and adjust production to suit
  • Ensure Company health and safety requirements are complied with and improved
  • Ensure Company personnel requirements are achieved
  • Ensure continuous improvement and all production KPIs are maintained and improved
  • Ensure working hours match production requirements
  • Ensure tooling requirements are maintained and achieved
  • Assist with new product and process development
  • Ensure maintenance requirements for plant and equipment are achieved and attend technical / maintenance meetings
  • Communicate and work with the Production Director and other departments as required.

Person specification

  • Full understanding of our manufacturing systems and be capable of operating in a 'Kanban & just in time' environment
  • Excellent managerial skills
  • Be well organised, multi-skilled, self-motivated, and professional
  • Computer literate
  • Attention to detail; accuracy is paramount
  • Responsible for achieving objectives on own initiative, as well as part of a team
  • Good timekeeping and attendance
  • Be consistent with workload and work to tight deadlines
  • Be flexible with tasks/duties so that adequate cover is available if ever required
  • Be able to communicate at all levels and have a "can do" attitude
  • Must be eligible and able to prove you can work in the UK, as the Company does not hold a sponsorship licence.
